Authentic. Alive. The signature terrain of a Tea Lady Ceremony.

There is a particular quality to a Tea Lady Ceremony. It is not something you simply listen to. It is a space that you enter. A moment, and a return.

A Living Experience

Tea Lady Ceremonies are not recorded in a studio. Nor are they polished to perfection. They are captured in nature, beside a creek, in the forest, in the quiet company of birds and the breeze. Each session carries the breath of the moment in which it was created. You may hear birdsong. The rustle of leaves. The occasional passing sound of life. Nothing is edited or added to enhance the presentation therefore what remains is what was always there.

Real. Unfolding and Alive.

Grounded in Place

Each ritual in The Tea Break Series is real; it is not abstract. Grounded in place and presence, right beside my home in Byron Bay.

I prepare my basket which carries tea and trinkets, items of comfort, and of beauty. Walk through my garden gate and to my favourite place for tea, I arrange my sheepskin on the earth or a seat. Place a fresh flower, shells or a candle. Set out my mug or flask of tea.

I choose these simple objects with love and care.

These are signals to myself: this moment matters.

In a Tea Lady Ceremony, you are not asked to leave your life behind. You are invited to take it with you and meet it. Just as it is.

The Power is in the Pause.

Life moves rapidly. Days and weeks fill with responsibilities, obligations, and commitments. In all this movement it is easy to drift away from ourselves, from our breath, our body, from the anchor within that keeps us steady and whole.

In its simplicity, Tea Lady Ceremonies offers something almost radical:

A pause.

Not a lengthy retreat or a complete escape. Just a few minutes with a cup of tea and a conscious breath. Long enough to allow something to shift yet short enough to return to daily.

In this time the nervous system softens, the mind settles and a sense of calm and quiet presence returns.

This is the power of the pause.

Not a Studio Experience

In a world where so much is filtered and polished, Tea Lady Ceremonies take a different path that involves the raw authenticity of real life.

Throughout these rituals you may hear birdsong or the breeze, the purr of my cat as she cuddles in close, the passing sounds of life around me, or a moment that doesn’t go exactly to plan. These are not distractions. They are part of the experience, reminding us that life is not controlled, it is lived.

Returning to What is Real

At its heart, Tea Lady Ceremonies offers a gentle invitation to return.

To our breath, to our body, to come home to our hearts.

To what is here, what is real, and what truly matters.

There are no special conditions required nor is there ever a perfect environment. Just a willingness to sit, to breathe and to be.

A Ritual for Daily Life

You do not need a forest, or a ceremony space. You can begin wherever you have a quiet space, at your kitchen table, office desk, in your car or at a park bench. A quiet corner of your bedroom or on your lounge.

A cup of tea and a small moment of intention.

There’s no time like the present

If you feel called, begin with a simple cup of tea, a quiet moment and a deep breath. When you’re ready, you are warmly invited to explore Tea Lady Ceremonies.

Acknowledgement of Country

Tea Lady Ceremonies emerged on Bunjalung Land, in the NSW Northern Rivers.

It is my privilege to live, work and raise my family here, to swim in the cool salty ocean that laps against this soil, to frolic with my family in fresh watering holes, to walk barefoot through the forest at the edge of my garden.

This land, belonging to the Arakwal, Minjungbal and Widjabal People, was never ceded. I recognise and celebrate the ongoing connection between land, sky, water and community and the beauty and strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. .

I pay my deepest respects to the Traditional Custodians of this land; past, present and emerging.
